Directions
- Take oxytetracycline exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, usually 1-2 times daily with a full glass of water.
- For optimal absorption, take the medication on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Avoid taking it with dairy products or calcium-rich foods, as they can interfere with absorption.
- Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve to prevent antibiotic resistance.
- For topical use, apply the ointment or gel to the affected area as directed by your healthcare provider.
Special Precautions
- Inform your doctor if you have a history of liver disease, kidney disease, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before starting oxytetracycline.
